Greg Bedan

Greg Bedan has fifteen years experience in economic development in Indiana, focusing on marketing and promoting the state of Indiana to domestic and international markets. Creating partnerships with state agencies, non-for profits and developing networks of like-minded groups seeking the same or similar goals have been essential to his success.
Mr. Bedan began his economic development career as the Director of General Services for the Indiana Department of Commerce. He soon took on other responsibilities creating partnerships with regional tourism organizations and managing Tourism Welcome Centers across Indiana. He established a distribution network to ensure that Indiana Tourism's printed material would reach its consumers in an efficient and timely manner.
The length of Mr. Bedan's service to the Department of Commerce was as the International Marketing & Motorcoach/Group Tour Manager. He was successful in promoting Indiana to new international markets and was instrumental in establishing partnerships with neighboring states and in the formation of the Great Lakes of North America (GLNA). Utilizing an integrated marketing and communications plan of sales promotion, public relations, database, direct and co-op marketing opened The United Kingdom, Germany and Latin America to Indiana destinations.
As Director of Development with the Department of Commerce, Mr. Bedan managed the Quality of Place Initiative (QPI) Grant Program, allocating over $550,000 to 11 tourism organizations. Under Mr. Bedan's leadership the Indiana Agri-tourism Initiative was created which required a partnership with the Office of Agriculture, Purdue University and the Indiana agriculture community. The success of the program spurred new legislation with House Enrolled Act 1244 in May 2004. Currently the Indiana Agri-tourism initiative is one of Indiana Tourism's and Indiana Agricultures on going diversification programs.
For his effort Lt. Governor's Kathy Davis praised Mr. Bedan with a Special Recognition Award for Outstanding Service to the State of Indiana. Additionally, he received a Special Recognition Award from the Indiana Agriculture Horticulture Congress.
Currently Mr. Bedan consults on marketing, public relations and promotions for non-for profit organizations such as the National Disabled Water Ski Championships and the French Market Festival at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. He has also represented the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, one of the city's premier arts organizations using his partnership creation skills to promote the ISO to the local group market in conjunction with other area cultural attractions.

- Marion County Local Advisory Council on Polling Place Accessibility (HAVA)
- The Governor's Planning Council for Persons with Disabilities
- American Bus Association's (ABA) Diversity Committee
- Old National Road Board (US 40)
- Ohio River Scenic Byway Board
Mr. Bedan is a member of Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church. He is a graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington with B.A. in Telecommunications and History with a Minor in Marketing with Post Graduate studies in Foreign Policy.
