Melanie L. Hobbs
Indiana Lobbyist
Melanie Hobbs joined The Third House in 2007. She brings strong expertise in Operations and Regulatory Management, as she has spent the last decade in government services and managed care on state and national levels. Additionally, Ms. Hobbs started her own Women Business Enterprise, Strategic Operations and Policy Solutions, Inc., specializing in healthcare consulting with a focus on operations management, quality improvement and regulatory compliance.
As Director of Government Services for Outlook Associates, LLC, Ms. Hobbs was responsible for a broad network of national industry contacts and relationships, focusing on consulting opportunities for government client organizations through her content and technical knowledge.
Before joining Outlook Associates, Ms. Hobbs worked with Managed Health Services, a subsidiary Centene Corporation, from 1998-2007. As Vice President of Operations and Regulatory Affairs, she was responsible for approximately a 200,000 member state-wide Medicaid managed care organization and assisted Centene Corporation in its other contracted states.
As a registered nurse, Ms. Hobbs worked with Indianapolis Pediatric Associates from 1993-1997, where she developed Quality Control Programs, oversaw CLIA and OSHA regulations and directed patient care.
Melanie is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana and holds a BS in Nursing and an AD in Business Administration from the University of Indianapolis and is a registered as an executive branch and legislative branch lobbyist with the State of Indiana. Memberships have included Indiana State Nurses Association, Medicaid Health Plans of America, America's Health Insurance Plans and Greater Indianapolis Domestic Violence Coalition. She was awarded a Prelude to Light Award by the Indianapolis Mayor's office.
